We are rejoicing in some good news from Bridget's bone marrow biopsy and spinal tap!  The doctor said there was no cancer cells!  Bridget's blood counts are up.  Praise the Lord for all He has done.

Bridget will go tomorrow for the doctor to look at where they took the lymph node out.  It may need to be drained.  Other than that the family is home until Monday when Bridget gets another chemo treatment.

Update For Today

Bridget's blood count is low but she is doing good.  She is eating and playing, also keeping her meds down..  Yesterday they opened up the place they did the lymph node biopsy to drain it because it had some fluid build up but it is doing good now.

Rough Weekend

Bridget had a rough weekend.  She had to go back to the hospital, had a fever and low blood counts.  She is feeling better, but will stay in the hospital a few more days for observation and fluids.  Please pray for a smooth day today.

Heather and family have found an apartment to stay in Praise the Lord!  Please pray for this time when they are away from home and family.

Bridgtet Is Discharged

Bridget was released from the hospital yesterdayay, but she still has to stay close to the hospital for the next month, so she and the familyy are in a hotel near the hospital.  Her treatments Friday went very well with just a little nausea after her oral meds.

Capital City Bank and Lafayette State Bank have opened accounts to receive donations for the family.  There are numerous expenses with this illness and having to stay in Gainesville. If you would like to give to this account, they are under the name of Bridget Mathis.

*NOTE:  Unfortunately, the account at Lafayette State Bank has not been opened as of yet, but if you would like to donate anything to help pay for expenses please feel free to contact Heather at 386-209-4820.

Please pray for a restful weekend for Bridget and the family.

Tests and Treatment Tomorrow

Bridget ate lunch today and then laid down for a nap and started vomiting.  They have taken her off of one of her medicines that is making her sick.  Please pray for a good night's rest for all.

Tomorrow she has to go into the Operating Room for another bone marrow biopsy, spinal tap and a round of chemo in her spinal fluid and a round in her port.  Please pray for her day, her tests and treatments.

Update

Although Bridget was taken off the IV, she suffered with some nausea and vomiting yesterday. They are not sure if it is from the chemo or other meds.   Please pray that she will drink enough to keep off the IV.  Her lab results looked good and she is able to 'roam the halls' a bit!

Please keep Charlie in your prayers for a quick recovery of his ear infection.

The Doctors said that Bridget would be released from the hospital some time next week but want the family to stay in the area because she is still in her induction stage of chemo meaning her counts could drop and she would need to been seen right away.  They are looking into getting a place at the Ronald McDonald house and plans are for them to stay in Gainesville for the month of October.  Please also pray for these arrangements and adjustments to go smoothly for Bridget and her family.

Blessing Of the Day!

Bridget was drinking so well today, they took her off the IV!  She ate good today and her blood counts looked good.

You are encouraged to keep Charlie in your prayers.  He is only 4 years old and doesn't understand why his baby sister can't be home with him.  He is being cared for and loved by family, but is having a hard time, as everyone is.  Today they found out that he has an ear infection and is on antibiotics.  Poor little guy!

Next treatment for Bridget will be Friday.

Good Report!

The doctors told Bridget's family today that there were no cancer cells in her spinal fluid or her brain.  We are rejoicing over each victory as we battle this disease.  There is nothing too hard for our God!

Next up will be a bone marrow biopsy on Friday as well as another round of chemo through her port and also inserted in her spinal fluid.  This will be all the treatment until the following Friday.

She continues to do well and is a very strong little girl!  Please continue to pray and thank God for what He is doing.
